Transmission Crossmember Drops Ford
Whether you use leaf springs or lift blocks to raise the rear of your van, you will need to consider the change in driveshaft angle coming off the back of the transfer case. If your driveline angle is too steep, you will have vibrations at speed.
Our crossmember extension solution allows you affordably lower your transmission cross-member the correct amount for 4-6 inches of lift at the rear axle, reducing driveline vibration. The kit works with the E40D, 4R100, 5R110, and 4R75 transmissions alike.
Alignment is very straightforward. Our plates come labeled left and right, and are pre-cleaned for weld-in locations. The plates are backed with a pre-welded support washer that sits snug up against the frame of the vehicle and right on top of the cross-member, showing you just where to weld it in.
Installation requires a 9/16" drill bit to make 1 hole in your crossmember. If you do not have an appropriate drill bit, choose the "add drill bit" option at checkout.
Note: If converting your E40D or 4R100 to 4x4, you may need to drill 2 more holes in the lower section of your crossmember because the spacing on the transmission mount 2WD vs. 4x4 is slightly different.
