Description:

This torsion bar carriage and transmission/t-case cross-member is designed for use in 2500 + 3500 series Chevy Express and GMC Savana vans to both support the transmission and transfer case, as well as provide a home for torsion keys and locks. The system works with 4500 cutaway vans as well with some frame boxing. 

This bolt-up design drops right in place of the factory van's cross-member holes. Complete installation requires drilling 2 additional holes and popping in crush sleeves/bolts, easy work.

This system is designed for use with OEM-style torsion bars, keys, and lower control arms. Both Timberline transmission adapters and factory transmissions bolt up with a conventional Silverado trans mount. 

Current iterations may have fixed or adjustable mounts as we migrate from fixed to adjustable mounts which provide additional flexibility across different platforms. 

Options:

Transmission - We have 3 transmission versions, 4L80 from years 2003-2010, 6L90 from years 2010-2020 / 2021-2023, and 8L90 from years 2017-2023. 

Lift - There are 2 options for the vehicle lift height, 0"-3" and 4"-6". The 4-6 option lowers the transmission and torsion bars approx 1.5". This isn't enough to meaningfully affect ground clearance. 

Availability Notes:

We try to stock most versions of this except the 8L90 which is built to order and takes 2-3 weeks lead time. We're working on verifying some info on 2024 G-series 8 Speed Transmission and will load availability once confirmed. 

Fitment Designed for: 

Van Side - 2003-2023 Chevrolet Express 2500/3500 series vans with: 2.8 Diesel, 4.3 Gas 2017+, 4.8 Gas, 6.0 Gas, and 6.6 Diesel / Gas). The product is compatible with 4500 and Cab/Chassis/Cutaway vans, but the vehicle frame is an open channel where this mounts and must be boxed for proper installation, contact with questions. 

Tools Required:

Standard hand tools minimum, pneumatic tools, and torque wrench recommended, tack welds recommended, larger drill bits and/or Unibit recommended, torsion bar unloading tool.

Included:

Torsion bar carriage, crush sleeves, hardware for carriage only. (Trans mount, torsion keys, etc, not included.)

1/4", 3/16" material CNC cut A36 mild steel, powder-coat

1-10 (10 being most difficult) Level 3

Torque spec on replacement cross-member bolts (Originals not reusable) 52ft-lbs. rear through-frame bolts 110ft-lbs, transmission mount 25ft-lbs.

  • Shipping: Our components are carefully wrapped & packaged and shipped via UPS, USPS, or FedEx, depending on what is available. If you require a particular carrier, please contact us ahead of your purchase.  Customers in Colorado may arrange for in-person pickup within 1-2 business days of purchase. 
  • Shipping/Fulfillment time for components: We typically ship within 1-2 business days of your order and we carefully monitor our inventory. In the event that we are unable to meet that timeframe, we will contact you and arrange either a full refund or a timeframe for fulfillment agreeable to the customer. 
  • Taxes: Colorado residents must pay a sales tax of 7.5%, no sales tax is collected on out-of-state shipments currently. 
  • Quality and Returns:  We are consistently complimented on the quality of our products and the ease of installation. Fabricated components are generally hand-built here in Colorado by seasoned professionals. Replacement or aftermarket parts are only offered in high-grade options.

    If you are in any way disappointed in the components, we will issue a full refund less the cost of shipping when the product is returned within 30 days of receipt. If you decide to return any components that didn't apply to your build or you changed your mind about, a shipping +15 % restocking fee will be deducted from the refund.
