This is a simple bolt-up solution for a 4x4 transfer case shifter assembly that works with either the 4L80 or 6L90 transmissions found in most 2003-2022 model Express and Savana 2500 + 3500 series vans. 

The shifter linkage is intended to tuck tightly against the driver's seat for easy access and to keep the "aisle" clear between the two front seats.  (Some models may require shaving or trimming the seat tilt lever for clearance, but we've done our best to mitigate this) We have also used the same linkage on cab/chassis variants like school buses and it works fine for most of them as well. 

This is a basic design that was put together for usage with our transmission adapters and the NP 261 case, however, it can be modified to work with other designs by modifying the length of your connecting rod. If you've cut your 4L80 output shaft, the length of the rod will need to be shortened. 

The updated product includes heavier duty greaseable linkage, heavier gusseted design, and new option for 4L80 transmission. Item ships with Racequip boot which is the best all-around option for the floor pan area which has many profiles. 

Fitment Designed for: 

Van Side - 2010-2021 Chevrolet Express 2500/3500/4500 series vans with 4L80 / 6L90 Transmission (4.8L, 6.0L, 6.6L). We do have a variant of this for the 8L90 transmission, but it's been a bit since we installed one, so that model may require slight modifications.  

Tools Required:

Standard hand tools, cutoff tools or nipper, drill bits, marker, etc.

Shifter linkage assembly (as shown), hardware included for mounting, shifter lever connecting rod. Trim boot included.

Construction Notes:

3/16" material CNC cut A36 mild steel, poly bushing w/ greasable sleeve, 5/8 solid round stock, grade 5/10 hardware, powder coat, plastic shifter ball, brass fittings.

1-10 (10 being most difficult) Level 3

This product may work with other model vehicles.  

During install: There are often wires in between the two front seats, under the carpet!!!

No cut-template is provided, but we do provide basic instructions on how to complete the cut-out. 

Installation notes:

When installing, the best solution is to pull the interior trim back first and make sure the area clear of wires, then mock up the unit and lever under the van, make a small hole to push the lever through, and connect the shifter rod to the transfer case, then work the lever back and forth as you increase the hole size in the floor to accommodate the travel.

Once the hole in the floor is fully clear, you may trace the underside of the interior trim and cut accordingly. This ensures the smallest hole possible and the least audible feedback in the cabin....and the least likelihood that you will cut into a vehicle harness. Cut a piece of rubber slightly larger than the overall hole, and put a slit in it, to cut down road noise and the environment even further.

If you require a particular carrier, please contact us ahead of your purchase.  Customers in Colorado may arrange for in-person pickup within 1-2 business days of purchase taking noted lead times into consideration. 
  • Shipping/Fulfillment time for components: We typically ship within 1-2 business days of your order and we carefully monitor our inventory. In the event that we are unable to meet that timeframe, we will contact you and arrange either a full refund or a timeframe for fulfillment agreeable to the customer. 
  • Taxes: Colorado residents must pay sales tax of 7.5%, no sales tax is collected on out-of-state shipments currently. 
  • Quality and Returns: We are consistently complimented on the quality of our products and the ease of installation. Components are hand-built here almost exclusively in Colorado by seasoned professionals who are fanatics about design and execution. If you are in any way disappointed in the components we will issue a full refund less the cost of shipping when the product is returned. If you decide to return any components that didn't apply to your build or you changed your mind about, shipping and a 15% restocking fee will be deducted from the purchase refund.
