NP261 Rebuilt Transfer Case
Description:
The NP261 was built by New Process (New Venture) and is a reliable chain-driven transfer case used primarily in Chevrolet and GMC vehicles from 1999-2007. This unit has a left side drop output and a low gear ratio of 2.72 to 1 with 2 high, 4 high, neutral and 4 low. The units we provide have 29 and 32 spline inputs and 32 spline outputs for both front and rear slip yokes. No core charge.
Timberline now offers rebuilt units for van builders with the following details
-Case inspected, dismantled, solvent-based heated cleaning, smoothed and painted with high build grey paint.
-Replacement of hard parts showing any signs of wear or potential failure, replacement of chain and any other hard parts needed.
-Replacement of gaskets, seals, and bearings with OE quality parts and Nachi/Koyo bearings
-Rear case half inspected, replaced with Aluminum half as needed, case saver installed on magnesium units.
-Replacement of range sensor and verified range reading.
-GM rod lever installed/included, common interference spots pre-shaved.
Note: Units are rebuilt with remanufactured cases. Cases may show small pockmarks, imperfections, and chips. We do our best to make cases attractive and more importantly reliable, but cosmetic imperfections may be present.
Why 261 notes: We have built G-series vans with 261, 241 and Magna 1225/1226 transfer cases. Nothing holds up as well as the 261 and runs as quiet when you're basically sitting on top of the transfer case with a hole down through the floor.
