Description

If you have an E-series van with a sliding door and you're running adapters in the rear with a wheel offset slightly higher than a stock 2WD rim, a Sterling axle, or if you're just running a tire wider than a 265 75 16, you've no doubt run into a problem with the sliding door hitting the tire. 

Years ago MG posted some instructions on how to modify your existing hinge and we have built a highly modified version of that product that is simply the best product available.

This new replacement hinge assembly for your Econoline (E-150,250-350) years 1992-2014 is a bolt-in solution that will exaggerate the pivot point of your sliding door giving the vast majority of users enough clearance to get the sliding door clear of your high offset rear tire. 

Why ours?

During our design, we extracted the maximum amount of pivot out of the design before the unit caused binding and difficulties in adjusting. The installation does take a bit of cutting and is best accomplished with 2 people, but it's very straightforward to install and works every time. 

Our hinge starts with a new OEM Ford hinge. The unit is disassembled, fabricated, and we retain the factory oil-impregnated brass bushings which fit far better than the aftermarket ones. The bearing assembly is masked off, the unit is sandblasted, coated with stainless steel paint and clear coated. (These can't be baked). We machine a custom shoulder bolt just for these, with a low profile lock-nut that fits perfectly and the brash bushings are carefully pressed back in without damaging the ears. Accept no other versions, this is the one you're looking for. 

Fitment Designed for: 

Van Side - 1992-2014 Ford E-150, E-250, and E-350 vans with sliding door on the passenger side. 

This product has been tested with up to a 275 70 18 on a -6 offset, a 285 70 17 on a 0 offset, and a 315 70 17 with a +6 offset, all on a stock D60 axle with a 2" rear wheel adapter which is the adapter width on most popular 4x4 Econoline conversions. Sterling Axle width may be slightly more narrow than this allowing for a wider tire. 

Tools Required:

Floor jack and a few wood blocks, small-angle cutter, die-grinder, electric screw gun or impact, appropriate sockets, patience, and ideally a friend to help.

New OEM Ford hinge (modified), custom shoulder bolt, factory brass bushings, instructions.

If you require a particular carrier, please contact us ahead of your purchase.  Customers in Colorado may arrange for in-person pickup within 1-2 business days of purchase. 

  • Shipping/Fulfillment time for components: We typically ship within 1-2 business days of your order and we carefully monitor our inventory. In the event that we are unable to meet that timeframe, we will contact you and arrange either a full refund or a timeframe for fulfillment agreeable to the customer. 

  • Taxes: Colorado residents must pay a sales tax of 7.5%, no sales tax is collected on out-of-state shipments currently. 

  • Quality and Returns:  We are consistently complimented on the quality of our products and the ease of installation. Fabricated components are generally hand-built here in Colorado by seasoned professionals. Replacement or aftermarket parts are only offered in high-grade options.

    If you are in any way disappointed in the components, we will issue a full refund less the cost of shipping when the product is returned within 30 days of receipt. If you decide to return any components that didn't apply to your build or you changed your mind about, a shipping+15% restocking fee will be deducted from the refund.
