4L80 Manual Transfer Case Shifter Kit

$425.00
Vehicle + Trans Type
Shift Boot
Shifter Ball
Description

This is a bolt-up manual transfer case shifter for the 4L80 transmission found in many GM pickups and vans. Our shifter is designed to work seamlessly in 2003-2009 GM vans with an NP261 transfer case, but it can be adapted to use in other applications or finish your own with our DIY kit.

The design bolts directly to the side of the transmission and also provides a spot to clip the transmission shifter cable into. All necessary hardware is included and we recommend the optional Racequip shifter boot

For Van Use:

If you're building a 4x4 GM van conversion, this setup works perfectly and will come up through the floor close to the side of the driver seat, but with room for the seat-tilt lever. Vans with custom front seats may have to bend the bar over slightly more.

The connecting rod is available in two standard lengths. 1) Some individuals opt to shorten the output shaft on their 2WD transmission and directly attach the extension housing and transfer case. 2) We recommend using our billet adapter on van conversions. Conventional custom vehicles may not need it.

For Custom Use:

The shifter lever can come up through the floor on either side of the triangle-shaped top part of the bracket. For vans, we put it on the outboard side, but your setup may require something different. The rod lengths on the van version are 9 and 13 inches. We also offer a DIY option that comes with an uncoated lever section with only the lower section welded. You'll need to weld the top part of the shifter in, and determine the length required/weld the connecting rod in.

Fitment Designed for:

Van Side - 2003-2009 Chevrolet Express 2500/3500/4500 series vans with 4L80 Transmission (4.8L, 6.0L, 6.6L).

Truck Side - Designed for NP261 transfer case. Most manual transfer cases have a side lever that will work with this setup when the connecting rod is set to the correct length.

Tools Required:

Standard hand tools, hole-saw, cutoff tools or nipper, drill bits, marker, etc. DIY projects will require additional tools.

Construction Notes:

3/16" material CNC cut A36 mild steel, poly bushing w/greaseable sleeve, 5/8 solid round stock, grade 5/10 hardware, powder coat, acrylic shifter ball, brass fittings.
