Ford Econoline Transmission Drop Brackets
Description:
Whether you use leaf springs or lift blocks to raise the rear of your van, you will need to consider the change in the driveline angle coming off the back of the transfer case. Failure to lower the cross member in vans with more than 3" of lift generally results in driveline feedback at higher speeds.
Our crossmember drops are an easy solution to lower your transmission cross-member the correct amount for 4-6 inches of lift at the rear axle. This kit works with E40D, 4R100, 4R75, and 5R110 transmissions.
Our bolt-in solution requires drilling 2 holes in the crossmember. No welding is required, though you could certainly weld them in if you wanted to. Our 6r140 drops do require welding in.
Our plates come labeled driver and passenger with clear instructions to install. Add a 9/16" drill bit to make the work go quick. (Most jobber bit sets only go up to 1/2" so check if you need one.)
Note: If converting your E40D or 4R100 to 4x4, you will need to drill 2 more holes in the lower section of your crossmember because the spacing on the transmission mount 2WD vs. 4x4 is slightly different.
