Description:

These are our GM Hi-Lift Knuckles for Chevy Express and GMC Savana full-size vans. These knuckles are several inches taller than the conventional GM Van spindles and are designed to work with our suite of products for the 5/6" lifted G-Series Vans. 

Function: 

Maintaining good geometry on IFS (Independent Front Suspension) vehicles like many modern pickups GM, Toyota, Nissan, etc, is just as important if not more so than on solid axle rigs like Ford and Dodge. Improper geometry can cause premature tire wear as well as bump steer under suspension compression which can lead to loss of control when traction is low. 

By using a taller knuckle when lowering the mounting point for the lower control arm (as in our drop carriages), we keep the angles of the upper and lower control arms more parallel leading to reduced impact on camber/caster under suspension compression. 

Additionally, the tie-rod mounting location on these knuckles has been designed specifically for the GM van application, flipping the mounting surface upside down and locating the pivot point further forward on the van to mimic the Ackerman steering angles found on a 2WD Van. 

All this leads to a better steering/driving experience than on other lifted GM Vans we've driven. The turning radius is very close to that of a non-lifted van even with the larger tires, and the steering doesn't bind up.

Tools Required:

Installation can be done with hand tools once you've made it to the point of installation. It can be helpful to have a jack of some sort when installing, to seat the ball joints and keep them from spinning when torquing.

  • Shipping: Our components are carefully wrapped & packaged and shipped via UPS, USPS, or FedEx, depending on what is available. If you require a particular carrier, please contact us ahead of your purchase.  Customers in Colorado may arrange for in-person pickup within 1-2 business days of purchase. 
  • Shipping/Fulfillment time for components: We typically ship within 1-2 business days of your order and we carefully monitor our inventory. In the event that we are unable to meet that timeframe, we will contact you and arrange either a full refund or a timeframe for fulfillment agreeable to the customer. 
  • Taxes: Colorado residents must pay a sales tax of 7.5%, no sales tax is collected on out-of-state shipments currently. 
  • Quality and Returns:  We are consistently complimented on the quality of our products and the ease of installation. Fabricated components are generally hand-built here in Colorado by seasoned professionals. Replacement or aftermarket parts are only offered in high-grade options.

    If you are in any way disappointed in the components, we will issue a full refund less the cost of shipping when the product is returned within 30 days of receipt. If you decide to return any components that didn't apply to your build or you changed your mind about, a shipping +15 % restocking fee will be deducted from the refund.
